  • Alternatively:

    • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.

    • Click on Add a printer or scanner.

    • Select your printer from the list and click Add device.

  • If necessary, macOS will automatically download the appropriate printer software. If not, you can visit the printer manufacturer’s website and download the driver.

Step 5: Test the Printer

  • Once added, you can print a test page to verify everything is working correctly.

3. Setting Up a Wireless Printer (Wi-Fi Setup):

Step 1: Connect the Printer to Wi-Fi

  • Via Printer’s Display Panel: Go to your printer’s control panel, find the Wi-Fi or Network Settings, and select your network. Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted.

  • Check the Printer Status: Make sure it’s not showing as “Offline” or in error state.

  • Reinstall Drivers: If there’s an issue with printing, reinstall the latest drivers from the manufacturer’s website.

Paper Jams in Printer

Dealing with a paper jam in a printer can be annoying, but here’s a general guide to help you fix it:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it to avoid any electrical issues or injury.

  2. Open the printer’s paper tray and the rear access door (if it has one). Some printers also have a front access panel.

  3. Remove the jammed paper carefully:

    • Try to pull the paper in the direction of the paper feed.

    • If it’s stuck tightly, gently tug it, but avoid using too much force as you could damage the printer or tear the paper.

    • Be sure to check both the input tray and output tray for any stuck paper.

  4. Check for smaller pieces of paper:

    • Sometimes bits of paper can get lodged in parts of the printer. Inspect the rollers and other accessible areas for any leftover scraps.

  5. Clear the paper path:

    • If the paper path looks cluttered, gently clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth and a little water, or use a mild cleaner specifically for printers.

  6. Check the printer’s settings:

    • Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the tray (it should not be overfilled, and the paper should be aligned properly).

    • Ensure you’re using the right paper size for the printer.

  7. Reassemble and restart the printer:

    • Once everything is clear, close all compartments and trays.

    • Plug the printer back in, turn it on, and run a test print.
